The Track and Field team has qualified 7 boys and 5 girls to the Regional Championships held next Thursday, April 23 in Orlando. To qualify for the Regional meet, a top 4 finish had to be garnered at the District meet. Madelyn Nurge placed 1st in the 100M Hurdles with a new school record time of 15.57, 1st in the Long Jump with a 16-9 jump, and 2nd in the Pole Vault with a 9-0 performance.  She currently holds state rankings of 9th, 20th and 16th, respectively.

Maurqise McGill placed 4th in the Triple Jump with a leap of 36-9.5.  He also qualifies as part of the 4×800 relay, with members Conner McMillan, Hector Rodriguez, and Lucas Johnson, and as a member of the 4×100 relay, with Demetrius Barry, Carmine Delieto, and Anthony Kendall.

The girls 4×800 relay team consisting of Daena Young, Ashley Scaperotti, Elianna Blow, and Dominique Reyes also qualified, placing 4th. We had many outstanding personal bests this year in throwing, running, and jumping events; each member did well in his/her event. As a team, the boys finished 4th and the girls finished 5th in team scores. Congratulations to our student-athletes!
