Family Resource Day

Families are invited to attend Anclote High School’s Family Resource Day on Tuesday, January 23, from 9:30-1:30 in the Shark Zone. A number of community agencies will be available to provide valuable information to families. Representatives from Chrysalis, BayCare, Metropolitan Ministries, One Community Now, the Health Department, Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention and Premier Healthcare are some of the Anclote partners available to engage families. A flier was sent home with students on Friday with additional details.

Athletic Excellence

Congratulations to Noah Winans who was selected as Offensive Lineman of the game at the East-West All Star Game last week. Big shout out also to Lyndsey McWhorter, who recently achieved a milestone as Anclote High School’s first 1000 point scorer in Lady Shark Basketball history.

Serving the Community

Ariana Hambel, and other Science National Honor Society and HOSA students from Anclote High School, recently assisted with Science Fair judging at Paul R. Smith Middle School. In the spring the group will also judge projects at Sunray Elementary.

Transportation Change

The District Transportation department will be making some route changes, which will take effect Tuesday, December 19th. Letters went home with all students on Friday and a copy can be found here. While bus stop locations will not change, the times of pick up and drop off will be adjusted. Families can contact Mrs. Anges with any questions or concerns.

During the week of November 27-December 1, 2017, students will be given an opportunity to learn about themselves, explore careers, build an education plan, and prepare for work by taking the free online career assessment MyCareerShinesMyCareerShines is a comprehensive education and career planning system that offers free online planning tools developed by Kuder, Inc. The online tools help students create a personalized plan that puts them on track to professional success. The assessments are aligned to career clusters and occupational pathways to help students match their interests, skills and work values with a job.

Science National Honor Society Inductions

Anclote High School’s Science National Honor Society recently hosted a ceremony where 20 students were inducted into this prestigious organization. Students were recognized for excellence in science through rigorous coursework and high grade point average. Way to REP the Sharks!
