Anclote High School’s Student Services team organized a College Fair with more than 40 Colleges and Universities participating. Juniors and Seniors had the opportunity to speak with representatives to gather information and gain insight on the requirements for acceptance, as well as opportunities for scholarships.
Anclote High School would like to welcome new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Kali Anges. Pending School Board approval on February 21, 2017, Mrs. Anges will join our Shark family. She attended the University of South Florida where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Anges has experience teaching in the intermediate grades at the elementary level and coaching teachers in various content areas. She is a passionate instructional leader dedicated to building teacher capacity for success in student engagement and achievement. She feels honored to serve our school community and to be a part of the Anclote High School Shark family.
Pasco County Schools, in conjunction with Pasco County Recycling and the Pasco Art Council, recently announced The Pasco Art of Recycling Contest winners. Pasco County High School students submitted artwork and 15 winners were selected. AHS is very proud to announce that 4 of the 15 awards were to Shark students!

Congratulations to the following students who were recognized at a recent Principal’s Brunch: Crystal Roberts, Sara Dicarlo, DJ Proper, Jacob Longworth, Gina Kastrati, Chris Knowles, Marim Baskharoun, Avalon Moorehead, Angelina Bobe, Keyvin Castillo-Arraras, and Elizabeth Martin.
The Lady Sharks Basketball team defeated the River Ridge Knights, for the second year in a row, to defend their title in the District Finals 38-34 on Friday. Coached by Brittany Szunko and Kerri Rulison-Lange, the ladies finished the regular season 21-4 before heading into post-season play. The Sharks host Weeki Wachee in Regional competition Thursday, February 9 at 7:00.
Anclote High School is proud to announce that Junior, Avalon Moorehead, was named Youth Volunteer of the Year for Pasco County! Avalon has logged more that 200 hours volunteering at Gulfside Elementary. Avalon is the third Shark student in a row to win this prestigious honor. AHS is very proud of her commitment to serving others and REPin’ the Sharks!
Congratulations to DJ Proper and Sara Dicarlo on signing their National Letters of Intent on February 1, National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Both ladies will be playing Volleyball at the next level as DJ will be joining the Hillsborough Community College Hawks and Sara will be traveling to Georgia to join the Piedmont College Lions. AHS is very proud of both the academic and athletic excellence these ladies exemplify.
