Homecoming 2013

Anclote High School’s 2013 Homecoming Week is October 21-26 – A Night in Paris! Dress up days include: Twin Day, Wacky Day, Character Day, and Spirit Day. Classes can earn spirit points by dressing up and participating in the fashion shows at lunches. The pep rally will be in the stadium on Friday with the Varsity Sharks taking on Wesley Chapel Friday night. The Homecoming dance is Saturday night from 7:00-11:00. AP Top Performers

photo[1]Anclote High School’s AP Top Performers were honored at a luncheon for achieving passing scores on their AP tests in 2013. These students participated in Advanced Placement testing in various courses after completing AP coursework. The College Board Advanced Placement courses follow a national curriculum and students participate in national assessments each May. Congratulations to our students for achieving academic excellence!

Anclote Career Academies Earn Bonuses!

Anclote High School’s Academies of Energy and Commercial Art & Design received bonus money for students earning state certifications in 2011-12 at a recent school board meeting. With the addition of our Health Academy we look forward to earning even more money as we continue to grow and expand the post-secondary options for our students.


Lady Sharks Dominate Orlando Tournament!


Coach V, Coach Adams and the Lady Sharks win big this past weekend!

Congratulations to our Volleyball team on winning the first major tournament championship in school history – the Lake Highland/Winter Park High School Showcase. The Lady Sharks won all 5 matches only dropping 1 set all weekend. They showed strength and determination after being down 7 points in the third set only to come back and win a trip to the finals, where they defeated West Boca Raton. The Seniors demonstrated their leadership and guidance in motivating the team to victory. A true TEAM championship for the Lady Sharks!

AHS 9-11 Ceremony


Battalion Commander Taz Duncan, Operations Officer Siara Lugo, and Company Commander Jody Pike organize a 9-11 ceremony at AHS.

In honor of 9-11, the Anclote High School JROTC and the Shark Band organized a special ceremony, including the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem, and a speech recognizing the significance of this date in history. The ceremony was concluded with a moment of silence, along with a ceremonial flower arrangement being placed at the base of the flag pole.

AHS Student Performs in Annapolis

Eric Durnell traveled with the Tampa Bay Thunder Drum & Bugle Corps to Annapolis, Maryland to perform over the Labor Day weekend. Thunder is a member of the Drum Corps Association and is currently one of two performing members from the state of Florida. Congratulations Eric!

Anclote Athletics

Congratulations to our girls swim team on their victory over Ridgewood 78-52 last week – the first swim victory in Anclote history! Our Lady Sharks Volleyball team is on a hot streak with victories last week over Hudson, Wesley Chapel, and Sunlake. This week we take on Wiregrass and Fivay in our first home game. The JV Football team had a big win in their opener defeating Ridgewood 40-0. Great job athletes!
